New music out of the US this week, with an album by the Massachusetts-based saxophonist/composer Kris Allen.

Kris Allen's second release features all new compositions for a chord-less quartet. Dedicated to the loved-ones in his life, the album's appropriately titled Beloved, with tributes to both his family and former mentor and jazz great Jackie McLean - Kris' mentore in Connecticut. The band includes Frank Kozyra on tenor saxophone, Luques Curtis on bass and Jonathan Barber on drums.
